FAQs
How far in advance do couples need to reserve your service?
The sooner you reach out, the more ease and intention we can bring to your ceremony planning—especially for The Story Ceremony or Love Nest options. Most couples connect with me 3 to 9 months ahead of their date, which gives us plenty of space to co-create something meaningful and unique to you.
That said, I totally understand that life doesn’t always run on a perfect timeline. I’ve crafted beautiful ceremonies with just a few days’ notice! If you're booking Slice of Joy or a simple legal signing, shorter notice is no problem at all—I'm happy to meet you where you are and make it work.
How do I reserve my date?
To reserve your date, a $50 deposit is required. Once you decide we’re a match, I’ll send over a simple contract and invoice by email, along with a secure link to pay online.
You’re welcome to use credit card, Venmo, Paypal—whatever feels easiest for you. Your date will be officially booked once both the signed contract and deposit are received.
How many witnesses do I need?
You’ll need two witnesses for your ceremony, and your photographer can count as one of them. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old. If you’re unable to provide witnesses for your Simple or Romantic Elopement, I can arrange for them to be present for an additional fee.
What do I need to get married in NC?
To get legally married in North Carolina, you’ll need to apply for a marriage license at any Register of Deeds office within 60 days of your wedding. The fee is $60, and both of you must appear in person with valid ID—like a driver’s license, passport, or birth certificate—as well as your social security cards or W-2 forms.
Your license is good for 60 days. After your ceremony, I’ll take care of mailing both signed copies back to the same Register of Deeds office for official recording. Once it’s processed, you can request certified copies for your records. Many counties provide an order form at the time of application, or you can find everything you need on the county’s website.
Do you officiate LGBTQ+ weddings?
Absolutely. Love is love, and every couple deserves a ceremony that reflects who they are, fully and joyfully. I work closely with each pair to create a ceremony that honors your relationship, your language, and your values—with intention, care, and celebration. My ceremonies embrace gender fluidity and equality, and are always crafted to feel true to you.
Are you authorized to marry persons in NC?
As an ordained non-denominational minister, I welcome and work with couples from all walks of life—whether your connection is rooted in spirituality, religion, or something beautifully your own. Most of the couples I serve identify as non-religious and are simply seeking a ceremony that feels personal, heartfelt, and full of love.
I’m ordained through Spirit of Love Ministry, based here in North Carolina, which gives me the legal authority to officiate weddings across NC and in 48 other states.
